Coronavirus – Covid 19 Update

We would like to reassure our customers that at present Northern Switchgear Ltd does not have any employees or sites impacted by the current Covid-19 pandemic and for now it is business as usual. This may change in the coming days and weeks but we are closely monitoring the situation and following all advice issued by the Government.

As a distributor our activities consist of the transportation and handling of goods and at present there is no identified risk from any of the products we handle. For our manufacturing side we have brought in measures to ensure hygiene is paramount to reduce risk.

With regard to the impact on our current stock, levels are good for our Schneider products and will provide a few months of availability. Whilst some delays in delivery may occur, as we maintain appropriate stock levels, we anticipate a low risk to customer service at the moment.

Our primary priority is the health and well-being of our staff and customers and to protect them as much as possible. As such, we have adapted our business operations in the following way:

  • Non critical activities such as team meetings have been suspended together with all overseas business travel.
  • Hand Sanitiser has been issued in all areas of our buildings and staff have been issued with protective gloves.
  • Visitors will only be permitted by prearrangement but we would urge communication to be conducted electronically and via the telephone wherever possible.
